Image description

(PLSE ONPASS TO ARCHIVES) - Picture shows Professor David de Kretser, who is on the team of the infertility breakthrough pioneered at the Monash Institute of Reproduction and Development August 20. A team at the institute created a world-first when they discovered of a new genetic cause of male infertility. Approximately one in seven couples in Australia is infertile and up until now the specific cause for the low sperm production was unknown. But now there is the possibility of exploring new methods of treatment for men with low sperm counts. WB/TAN
