An unidentified protestor is flanked by police horses outside a government office May 20. A national rally by building workers to highlight the inequality of law which protects bank interests ahead of workers' entitlements, was called by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU). ACTU say up to 150,000 building workers stopped work across the country to rally and march in opposition to what they say is the federal government's attack on their award. Police regularly patrol demonstrations and use horses as an effective form of crowd control. WB/TAN/ME
