Manager of the Greek Olympic torch relay displays a torch designed for the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the year when torches and relays were first introduced at the Games, as he is interviewed by a Reuters correspondent in Athens January 25, 2002. The organising committee of the Athens 2004 Olympics has asked several well-known Greek artists and designers to come up with concepts for the 2004 torch in an invitational competition. According to Kritsinelis every torch designed for the Games must be light, easy to use, have a colourful flame and not burn the runners hand or hair when the wind changes.
