after Sir Peter Paul Rubens (Siegen 1577 - Antwerp 1640). Oil painting on canvas, Self-portrait (after Rubens), after Sir Peter Paul Rubens (Siegen 1577 – Antwerp 1640), 19th century. A half-length portrait of the artist to the right. His is head turned, but still almost profile, gazing at the spectator with an upturned moustache, full beard, wearing a hat with a large upturned brim and a white lace collar. A copy from the original in the Royal Collection, 1623, aged 45, commissioned by Henry Danvers, Earl of Danby, as a present for Charles I when Prince of Wales.
