This little picture shows a fisherman after a successful day's fishing, with a basket full of fish beside him. The fisherman wears waders, a fisherman's apron, and oilskin hat. He carries a net on his shoulder. Behind him are two small fishing cobles (boats). Henry Perlee Parker became known for his fishermen and smuggler subjects. He was one of the leading artists in Newcastle until 1841, when he moved to Sheffield.
