The Padshahnama (Chronicle of the Emperor) is a genre of works written as the official visual history of Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan’s reign. Most significant work of this genre was written by Abdul Hamid Lahori in two volumes. Shah Jahan (also spelled Shah Jehan, Shahjehan) (1592-1666) was the emperor of the Mughal Empire in South Asia from 1628 until 1658. Shāh Shujā (1616–1660) was the second son of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and empress Mumtaz Mahal. Painting attributed to the illustrator Bhola.
