Historic footage of AEF Troops returning to New York City after WWI. Jim Europe's 369th Infantry Harlem Hellfighters jazz band returns on the transport ship Stockholm. (The 369th Infantry is known for being the first African-American and Puerto Rican regiment to serve with the American Expeditionary Force during World War I.) Footage of the USS Northern Pacific troop transport ship loaded with WWI veterans. Coast Guard cutters and life boats remove the passengers. Man on shore using signal flags to communicate with USS Northern Pacific. The troop transport ship Stockholm docks at Hoboken. Shows Colonel William Hayward, Commander of 369th Infantry Regiment. The African-American 93rd Division of the 369th Infantry Regiment debark. Panning shot of foggy New York City skyline and waterfront in 1919. New York City parade as the all African-American 93rd Division, 369th Infantry Regiment, the Black Rattlers, parade through the city to Harlem. Wounded veterans ride in automobile and Ford Model T ambulances or trucks.
